TUC Small Groups

Small groups form a vital part of the life of the congregation, and over half the members of the congregation participate in small groups.

Groups meet variously weekly or fortnightly or at other times that suit the members of the group. An important element of the groups is that they provide opportunity for prayer and worship, developing the spiritual life through study and avenues of service for others.

Importantly the groups provide nurture and support and lasting friendships as we move on our journey.

If you would like to participate in a small group or inquire further about how they operate, please contact Anne Ryan or email us.

Why Small groups

Small groups are vital in the life of our congregation. They are the essential place of spiritual growth, friendship and nurture. People care for each other in times of need. It is how we connect authentically with each other.

Joining a small group

Many members of the congregation are already in a small group. If you are interested in being part of a small group, speak first with an elder or the Minister. New small groups are seeded from time to time, so please register your interest in becoming a part of this aspect of our life together.

Resources

Most small groups organise their own study material. There are several resources available from the church office, and the church library also has resources in the form of books, videos and audio tapes. The leadership group of small group leaders meets during the year to discuss the materials they have used. Other useful resources are the Harvest Christian Bookshop in Tuggeranong Square, and the Fyshwick Koorong Christian Bookshop in Fyshwick.

About Our Church

Our faith community began in 1975 as a small ecumenical gathering of people who settled in the new Canberra township of Tuggeranong. We have grown with the Tuggeranong Community, and our parish centre is the hub for our work, as a place of worship, of gathering and ministry.

We aim to help people have life to the full. We welcome people into a our Christian community where they can connect with God, with one another and with opportunities to make a difference in our changing world.
